Erica Sofia is a young musician and songwriter based in the West Midlands, and featured as BBC Introducing WM Artist of the Month. With her thoughtful insights and soothing vocals, she touches both mind and soul. From escaping the uneasy reflections of life to finding the strength in facing them, her contemplative lyrics and atmospheric sound touch on the emotions a listener might not yet have found the words to express. Endlessly curious, her exploration into any and all types of music has kept her keen musical ear evolving, implementing fragments from jazz and ambient, to rock and country into her projects. Her songwriting centres on folk-rooted guitar picking, inspired by the likes of John Martyn and Joni Mitchell, as well as piano led ballads akin to Norah Jones and Carole King. These influences, among many, bleed into her signature sound – dreamy, pensive and introspective.
